The Eiffel Tower is an iron lattice tower located in Paris, France. It was built as the entrance arch to the 1889 World’s Fair and was intended to demonstrate France’s industrial prowess to the world. The tower, named after its designer Gustave Eiffel, has since become one of the most recognizable landmarks in the world and is a symbol of Paris and France. At 300 meters tall, the Eiffel Tower was the tallest man-made structure in the world when it was completed and held this record for 41 years. Today, it is a major tourist attraction, drawing millions of visitors each year who come to admire its views and enjoy its restaurants and other amenities.
